Embodied Psychotherapy
This therapy puts somatic processing and experiencing at the heart of the treatment.
It is most suitable for people who have somatic symptoms or are aware of the connection between their emotional and psychological; selves and their physical well-being or sense of embodiedness and purpose.
The central therapeutic concern will be about unexpressed emotions and feelings trapped in the body, and working with ways to integrate mind and body to restore a better sense of personal integration, agency and authenticity.
The therapy is based on a profound understanding of somatic processing and experiencing. Whilst drawing on many somatic modalities (Hanna, Levine, Cranial, Schneider, Hendrickson etc), it will draw on elements of NLP, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, Gendler’s Focussing, Dynamic Visualisation, and Energy Psychology (Tapping).
There will also be some elements of bodywork as appropriate involving touch, body scanning, kinaesthetic awareness, breath, explore movement, and mindfulness.
The work can also be seen as an ongoing support throughout every stage of life and as as a way of negotiating important life changes.
